When there is new information we evaluate situations differently. Think about this, when you allow the person to communicate something to you without you putting up all the fences and wall, then you start to listen. This new information enlightens you. There is a chance you may decide to react differently. How to work with people you don’t like? Try to enlighten yourself about them and let them enlighten you too. Enlighten Seek to allow them to get to know you personally. The information and new knowledge about you may enlighten them about you. It gives them insight into who you are, why you do the things you do and the way you do it. When people understand you more, there is a better chance they will begin to like you. Of course, there is no guarantee it will work. At the very least there is a chance. Get to know them on a more personal level too. As much as we allow people to know us, we must learn about them. Enlighten yourself about them. What makes them tick, what is it that you do that disturbs them or even irritates them. Perhaps with this piece of information you may start to know how to work with people you don’t like. To enlighten yourself, one way is to look for the positive. If it is difficult, what I normally tell myself is that many times there is more than one way to do things. So others maybe right too. That way, it makes it easier for you to look at the positives. To enlighten them, be patient in explaining your stance or why you do certain things. They may at least seek to understand your angle of things. How to work with people you don’t like? One way is to enlighten yourself about the other party. Then take it a step further by making an effort to enlighten the other party about you. When understanding begins, liking can too.
