4 Reasons Why You Are Your Own Career Success Maker
1. You Decide
Before you can achieve career success, you have to DECIDE that you desire career success. The decision to achieve career success has to be done by you. No one can do it for you. You make that conscious decision based on your own evaluation. You have to decide and define what is that success. This is reason number one why you are your own career success maker.
2. You Do, No One Else
Success coaches can guide you, your mentor can motivate you, but eventually you have to make it happen yourself. I used to instruct martial arts to elementary and high school students and in my classes, I tell my students that I can teach them the proper techniques. I can guide them in executing a punch. I can show them how a kick is done. But eventually that perfect technique has to be done by them. You have to act upon your own career plan to achieve career success. This is reason number two why you are your own career success maker.
3. You Prepare A Plan

Some people who fail gives the excuse that they do not have the luck to succeed. But is career success about luck? For me, luck is a word people hide behind when they fail. The adage “Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail” is true. Prepare a career success plan. Confront your weaknesses in terms of skills and knowledge, and then put a plan in place to improve them. This is reason number three why you are your own career success maker.
4. You Overcome The Challenges
The road to career success is full of challenges. These challenges can only be overcome by you. That’s why it feels good when you achieve success. Sometimes your own thoughts, attitudes and behaviors are your biggest challenges. Others can guide you and encourage you in overcoming these limitations. But only you alone can overcome them.
The fact that you are your own career success maker should come as good news to you. This is because you are in control of your own destiny. No one can dictate it for you.
