Key Success Factor: The One Factor that Ensures Your Dream of Career Success Is Alive
What is the key success factor that determines career success? There are many factors that determine if you succeed in your career or in your life for that matter. I have mentioned that for you to be a star in your company you need to have pride, passion and belief. And these need to be backed by skills, action and direction. Otherwise, none of what you do matters.
Among these success factors, what would I consider the key success factor? If I had to choose - it would have to be Belief.
1. It All Starts With A Thought
Everything starts with a thought. In whatever you want to do, you need to consciously decide that you will make a decision to act upon it. Without that process, things may still get done but you can bet that it would not achieve the best results.
Why is belief a key success factor? It is because when you think hard enough and you yearn for the results of success - it becomes a belief. What happens next? Well, when you belief hard enough it becomes a conviction. Conviction provides the crucial sparks that will combust what you have seeded from your mind to your heart.
When you are convicted it starts a fire in your heart and fuels a positive attitude. That positive attitude drives your action. When you act upon conviction and positive attitude it is almost always success.
2. Feel It In Your Heart
The key success factor – belief has started a chain reaction for you to succeed in your career whatever that aim may be – a promotion or a smooth completion of a project. When you have that belief, feel it in your heart. Let it burn inside you. It makes you truly know what you want. When you know what you want, know that you will act upon it. Do not fear failure. If you truly believe in what you want then there is no need to fear failure. The risks of failure will always be there. You only truly fail when you stop doing. So failure doesn't exist for someone who doesn't give up.
The key success factor of belief has now moved from your mind to your heart and has transformed from a belief to a conviction. That conviction now moves you. In fact, if you truly believe in your goals it would be impossible to stop you.
3. Act Upon that Belief
How else does the key success factor – belief functions? When belief transforms into conviction it becomes tough to resist action. Action upon the career dreams you set for yourself.
The toughest part of any success is this key success factor - belief. Seeding that thought. That belief in the kind of success you define for yourself. When you are able to do it, it becomes a very smooth process. Yes, there will be hard work but that hard work seems effortless when fueled by conviction.
In order to succeed in your career it is a phase you will have to go through. So, it all starts with the key success factor of belief. Belief leads to conviction, conviction leads to action. Action upon your belief leads to success in however you define it.
